The challenge

Frontline banking staff handle high-pressure customer interactions where the wrong response escalates the situation. The module had to build that judgment, not just describe it.

Scenario first

Built in Articulate Storyline 360 with a fully immersive 360 degree bank branch environment, the module drops learners into a realistic Friday afternoon scenario before any instruction begins.

Branching and feedback

Four branching choices lead to distinct outcomes, each with differentiated feedback grounded in real behavioral principles.

Design decisions

  • Cognitive load theory shaped how much the learner handles at each point.
  • Constructivist learning principles put the experience ahead of the explanation.
  • Kirkpatrick Level 3 evaluation framing keeps the focus on behavior on the job.

The debrief

The debrief distills four transferable principles applicable beyond the banking context.
