I spent my career in conservatory training environments where learning outcomes were public, measurable, and unforgiving. That experience gave me something most instructional designers do not have coming in: a deep firsthand understanding of how people actually acquire complex skills under pressure, and what it takes to move someone from baseline to excellent rather than adequate.
I hold a Master of Arts in Music Education with emphasis in educational psychology from the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Tuba Performance from Ohio University.
I design with cognitive load theory, constructivism, spaced practice, and Kirkpatrick evaluation framing as my baseline. I build in Articulate Rise and Storyline 360, produce commercial level media using Adobe Creative Suite and generative AI tools, and document every design decision with the rationale behind it.
The work in this portfolio reflects that foundation.
